Maya Keliyan (1957)
 

˜        Majored in Philosophy and Sociology at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ochridski”(1979), Ph.D. (1990), senior research associate (2000) at the Institute of Sociology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, employed at the Institute of Sociology since 1985.

˜        More than 60 publications in the fields of comparative studies on social transformations and social structures in different societies; Japanese studies; social stratification; middle strata analysis; patterns of consumption and life styles; community studies; rural sociology; sociology of work.

˜        Specializations at: Kyoto University, Japan (1994-1995) with scholarship from The Japan Foundation and as a visiting professor (2004-2005); Kyoto Institute of Technology (1997-1998) as The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science fellow.

˜        Vice-President and PRP of the Association for Middle Class Development (1998-now) - non-governmental think tank organization.
